Sorcerer's Aprrentice

Just finished watching the Sorcerer's Apprentice last night. And I really enjoyed it. Inspired by a Mickey Mouse 1940 Disney Film "Fantasia", The Sorcerer's Apprentice produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Jon Turteltaub was a real treat. Though the cinematic effects of the movie was average, the plot was simple, the characters were good, the whole movie itself was great. Jay Baruchel who played as Dave Stutler, the Prime Merlinian was perfect for the role. I won't be posting spoilers of the movie but I would give you guys a sneak peak on what's in store for the movie goers who will watch the film.

By the way, One Republic's "Secrets" is the perfect movie date song in history.

I have read this article in People's Tonight, a local newspaper here in the Philippines. I forgot the date but this is what the article says.

Forget about Bella Lugosi. " Twilight" biter Robert Pattinson might be an actual blood relative to Dracula. A new twist provided by the tween-scream flick's promotion machine says researchers at website Ancestry,con claim to have discovered that the 24 year old British actor is related to 15th-century ruler Vlad IV Tzepesh, a.k.a Vlad the Impaler, a.k.a that crazy killer freak who inspired Bram Stoker's classic novel Dracula.

If that's not quite enough to get your blood pumping, the good people of Ancestry.com also say the Pattinson-Dracula connection extends to the British Royal family. Yep, Prince William and Prince Harry are Pattinson's distant cousins, and Vlad, they claim was their distant uncle.

Is this true or another form of publicity? or is it true?

I have checked out the site Ancestry.com. It's a site where you can trace a person's roots, his bloodline. Registering in the site has a 14 day free trial but I did not bother to sign-up. Whether his a vampire offspring or not, doesn't matter. He is still my reason for existing. lol.

Making Up, I Want A Laptop

I am really trying my best to make up for all the times I was not able to blog. I really feel bad for not being able to maintain my blog. If only I had a personal laptop, one I can use anywhere, I would have been a better blogger. I only blog at work, on my spare time. Most of the times, I am buried with a lot of office works to be submitted urgently, thus leaving me with no time to blog. Hopefully before the year ends, I could buy myself my own laptop. I am planning to spend my 13th month pay and my SSS Salary loan on that item. I really feel that if I have my own laptop, my writing career would definitely get going. I usually write my articles in a notebook and type everything in my office computer the nest day. This is a hard thing for me to do. I really want a laptop.

Frantic Fridays Launched

Frantic Fridays has finally arrived! Friday for me is a day for ranting, complaining and blowing off steam. Today I would be ranting about the heat that is continuously messing up with my mood. I love the sun, but the heat, definitely not.

Summer has arrived early in most part of the world, specifically to countries located near the Equator region. The El Niño Phenomena is the one behind all these troubles.

What is the El Niño Phenomena?

According to www.csa.com , the term El Niño or “Spanish Child” was originally used by fishermen to refer to the Pacific Ocean's warm currents near the coasts of Peru and Ecuador that appeared periodically around Christmas time and lasts for a few more months. Today, we use the tern to identify the large-scale warming of the planet Earth’s surface water every 3-6 years, which usually lasts for 9-12 months, but may continue for up to 18 months which dramatically affects the weather worldwide.

But as we can see, the El Niño Phenomena occurs much more frequently today than it was in the past. Of course we all know that this is because of the continuous deterioration of the Earth’s natural resources. The ozone layers is much more thinner than it used to be, forests lands have been denudated, toxic chemicals are ruining the lands and seas and not to mention the continuous piling up of waste and garbage around the globe.

I don’t want to sound too intellectual and an advocate for a greener Earth here. I admit. I have thrown a piece of paper and placed gum under my school desk, once or even more in my entire life. But I have been recycling and planting trees as much as I could to compensate for the wrong things I have done to our environment in the past. Let’s all contribute and share. Farmers here in the Philippines who earns less than what they need to survive in a day is even earning much lesser. Sources of income for these poor farmers are going to waste while politician wannabe’s are spending million of pesos for their campaigns. The government is spending billion of pesos for the automation of the elections, which is, as of present time delayed in schedule. I wish this people would bump their heads and realize that they are wasting “THE PEOPLE’S MONEY”. Shame on them.

Geez, I am so envious with countries like Japan, Singapore and Korea. They are not as powerful compared to the USA but they have managed to balance progress, keeping their environment healthy and keeping their culture and heritage intact. I have never been to these places, but watching tons of Asian novellas gave me a glimpse of what these countries have. Residential places are separated from the business areas. Forest and parks are also separated from the communities. I wish our leaders would have thought of that.

Maximizing Your Blog's Monetary Potential

Blogging nowadays has emerged from a simple online diary to a money generating channel for bloggers worldwide. It started out as a hobby for many, but now has been attracting former non-bloggers to explore the potentials of generating a prosperous income from this not so explored money making media.

Rookie bloggers have increased from hundreds to thousands and is continuously increasing every minute of the day. Some of these newbie bloggers have been exceptionally excelling in their craft, and some are still “in the dark” and is still on the stage of finding a niche that would work for them.

I am not a newbie blogger, in fact, I have already created several blogs way back in the past even before my online colleagues started their own blogs. But rookie or not I can still never deny the fact that I have been “in the dark” several times in my blogging career.

I was able to make money from my previous blogs, but those blogs have been neglected and has been hanging around the web space like “space junks”. Why did I allow it to happen? It happened because I was in a hurry to monetize it. Greedy am I right? I have realized it too.

This is the common mistake newbie bloggers commit. Yes we all want to make money from our blogs, but we should always remember that this will never happen overnight.

It is advisable to plan before getting into blogging. Blogging is like any endeavor, without the proper knowledge, success is something far from achieving.

These are some of the basic things to do before creating a blog.

• Scout for a perfect layout for your blog. Learning basic HTML and CSS tricks is also a plus. As a newbie, I was easily distracted by numerous FREE blog layouts available for download anytime in the internet. Back then I was changing my blog’s layout every week. I never thought it was a bad idea, but the truth is, it is. Your readers may love your new layout but, it does not necessarily mean your traffic will increase because of your layout. Readers go for your content. For beginners, a basic 2 or 3 column blog layout is advisable. It is much more manageable than going for attractive plug-ins your not yet familiar with.

• Find a niche you love and is good at. I suggest you list down topics of interests and check the ones you are good at. If you ended up with 5 interests but wants to start with a single blog for easy monitoring, designate. Write about politics on Mondays, gadgets on Tuesdays, baking on Wednesdays and so on. Blogging has evolved through the years. Multiple niches in one blog are now a common thing. You just need to properly arrange everything in your blog for reading convenience.

• Market your blog. MArketing is everything. Readers won’t bump into your blog instantly. You are the one responsible for attracting readers to visit your blog. How? One is advertising. But I only advise advertising to blog owners who have the extra dough and to those who have already written a generous amount of information in their blogs. In the first place, who would visit a blog with 3 entries? None, unless your Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus right? Participating in traffic exchange sites is also advisable. It’s free and you get the chance to meet bloggers whom you can get ideas to innovate and friends that could advice you on how to make more out of your blog. Then again, good content will bring you more traffic and will keep readers coming back.

• Be patient. Blogging is a profitable source of income nowadays, but again, this doesn’t happen overnight. Avoid posting “ad space available” widgets on your blog. Before aiming to make money from your blogs, aim to get traffic. Would you advertise on a blog who doesn’t have credibility or a descent traffic amount per day? Of course not right? Focus on building traffic. Advertisers will come to you when your blog has made a name for itself.

It’s been 3 months since I launched this blog – Bunak’s Boring Life. Though it was hard to admit, I finally realized that I was not making the most out of my blog. My blog in one way or another sulked.

Being involved in a couple of traffic exchange sites made me realized what my blog is lacing at. Being able to visit various blog sites made me see my own blog’s weaknesses. I started out blogging mainly because of the monetary benefits a blog has. I started out posting entries just for the sake of posting. I hopped from one blog to another hoping to bump into a fabulous idea from another blogger thinking that I could adopt these ideas to my blog, thus bringing more traffic into it. But in the end I realized that being like everyone else brings you nowhere.

I almost forgot that there are million of bloggers around the globe writing about the same topics, issues and ideas. As a newbie, it is really very hard to compete with them. So what can make your blog stand out from above the rest? Your blog should be unique. It is a fact that you can really get a lot of bright ideas from someone else’s blog, but that does not mean that we would all end up as “copy cats” for our blog to succeed. We can always add a personal touch to someone else’s idea, improving it and thus creating a new idea that we can proudly claim to be our own. Improving someone else’s idea is not cheating, it’s innovating. All good things were created from an idea but was improved and perfected through innovations.

So here I am again, picking up the pieces and starting all over again. I may have failed, but I have learned a lot. A person cannot put a time-limit on when one becomes successful for success depends on our own hard work, creativity and effort. Understanding that success is not going to happen instantly, is the first step in succeeding.

So what’s in store for Bunak’s Boring Life Blog?

Well, I can’t promise my readers something new, but I am definitely giving them something different. =)

Kaboom!

It's a Boy!

Last Friday, March 19, 2010, my sister-in-law gave birth to her second child. It's a baby boy! They will be naming him MARC STEVEN MOJICA. The Steven came from my late grandfather's name

" Esteban". I haven't seen the child yet but I am very excited and looking forward on meeting him this coming weekend. I am also very excited to see how ALTHEA, their eldest child and my favorite niece, will react with the new baby. Althea has been the apple of the eye of our family for the past two years, and of course, she will always be the apple of our eyes. But for the past two years, she had been used to the attention of everyone in the family. So I am really worried on how she would react with the new addition in our family. For the past months, I have been talking to her and trying to make her understand that she should love the new baby, and nothing will change between me and her when tha baby comes. I must admit that Althea is my favorite niece. Well actually, she is my only niece. But I always shower her with attention, love and material thing she wants. If she wants to visit Jollibee, off we go to Jollibee. If she wants to watch Barbie's DVD over and over again, so be it. If she wants me to carry her while dancing to the tune of "Nobody", I would happily do it even though she weighs 20 kilos at the age of 2 years and 9 months. Hopefully the two kids would love each other. If she wants to play with the mud outside, I would bring her there. I am such a spoiler. And I promise myself that these would not change even though there's a new baby around. But of course, I would love to spoil Marc. I just soooooo love my "pamangkins"!

When All Else Fails....

When everyone and everything seems to be failing. Stop , look and listen. Stand up and go on living your life again. Everyone fails. Even the richest man on Earth failed at one point in their lives. What keeps them going is the fact that life doesn't stops there. There is a big wide horizon out there. A pot of gold waiting to be discovered.

Well, I wish I was feeling the same way. The truth is, I feel that everthing around me that concerns me are failing. I'm still broke, the possibility of having a salary raise this year is seems to be less than 10%, my exams is about to come in less than 2 months and I am still unprepared, my boyfriend has no plans of marrying me yet, my one-great love is inlove with someone else but were good friend,duh and my career is not improving. I know my continuous whinning and ranting won't do any good, and I am blessed compared to other people who lost their jobs or a family member. But still. my life seems to suck.

So I am stoping, looking and listening.

I would stop whinning and feeling bad about the imperfections around me. They are all part of the past and I can't do anything about them. I cannot undo them anymore. What's done is done. Time machines are not yet invented and if ever they were, I could not afford using one. Life goes on, so I guess I should go on with life too.

I would look. Where did I go wrong? Do I keep on committing the same mistakes over and over again? I have no one to blame for the mistakes and wrong decisions I have done in my life. I am the captain of my life, no one can dictate or affect my decisions but me.

I would listen. Maybe it's time for me to listen to advices. Unsolicited or not, I should try to weigh options according to what other people see. I might be to pre-occuppied with things making me unable to see clearly about things in my life.

If all else fails, I would continue stopping, looking and listening till my life comes back on track.

Today I am launching another blog. Bunak's Money Blog. This blog will be about money making tips and opportunities, steps to financial freedom and other money matters.

I already posted my first article entitled Journey to Financial Freedom. I have briefly defined what financial freedom is and the basic steps in achieving it. I have been looking for topics to right about in my blog. Having so many things in my mind caused a clash of ideas in this blog, Bunak's Boring Life, so I have decided to create a seperate blog for my points of views and tips about financial stability. Hopefully, this blog would be a success.

Multiple Income Streams

I am feeling discouraged again. For the "nth" time, I feel that all my efforts to create a feasible income from the internet and the real world is just going to waste.

I have read from several self-help and financial books that we need to create multiple income streams to get rich or atleast to attain financial freedom. Men should not be contented with the passive income we get from our 8 hour regular job. We should continue looking for more financial opportunities we could venture at to be able to attain our dream of being financially stable.
This past years have been very tough for me financially. I had a bad credit card debt that I am still paying of at present. The recession happened and the increase in my passive income did not push trhrough. I had to take action. I researched about ways to improve my financial situation. I arrived with five possible source of income that applies to my financial situation right now.
1. My 8 hour regular job - passive income
2. Selling electronic prepaid load - passive income
3. Blogging and other free online money making opportunities - active income
4. Direct Selling - passive income
5. Engineering Services - passive income.
As you can see, my income streams are mostly passive sources of income. Passive income are incomes generated from activities that requires your attention and time. Active income on the other hand are sources of income that continious to flor even when your sleeping. I would like to try investing, mutual funds and hedge funds. Sadly, my resources are not enough to cover for the initial cash-out needed in these money making schemes.
My day job has proved to be insuffiecient. The recession caused a major blow in our mother company's revenue, thus, allowances for the increase in our take home pay have been zero for the past 2 years. The career itself does not gives me personal satisfaction. I earn 300$ a month. I support my brother's schooling, have bills to pay, take cares of the rent and groceries, so you can just imagine how little money is left for my savings. Finding a second job is not possible since my present work consumes almost every hour of my day. As soon as I finish paying for my credit card debt, I will move to a more career fullfilling anf better paying job.
Selling electronic loads, direct selling and my Engineering services are passive incomes that comes once in a while. Selling is profitable but competition is tight. There are also a lot of entrepreneurs like me who carries the same product, thus making the competition even tougher.
Now, I am left with Blogging and other online money making opportunities. Selling my idea is the least I can do. depressingly, making money from blogging and other online activities is not that easy. I have earned around 150$ in total for the past 2 years, quite very small compared to other bloggers whoe earns the same amount in a month. This is quite depressing. Another thing that adds to the depression are the days when I ran out of creative juices, thus making me incompetent and idle. Discouragement and frustrations is a common thing for neophyte bloggers like me, I know that, but still I can't help but feel it. Hopefully, by the end of the day, I won't feel the like this anymore.

Bad Credit

Bad Credit can break you. You may loose friends and respect. People may start loosing confidence on you. One of my collegues is suffering from bad credit. Banks have been calling at the office everyday to check on him and his delayed payments. Lending companies have been threatening to sue him if he fails to pay his balances. Even fellow co-workers are loosing their confidence and respect in him because of his bad credit. Hopefully, he will be able to fix these problems before it gets worse. I also hope that his experiences won't happen to me. Lesson learned. Live simply. Do not leave beyond your means.

MISSION 2010 : DESTROY DEBT

Yes, finally I got tired of debt. Finally I spent 4 hours last night creating a plan and a program I need to stick with for the next 6 months to be able to get myself out of debt. I had enough. I don't want to experience the feeling of "scarcity" over and over again.

This time, I will completely eliminate my debt. If I need to hire an assasin to do this job for me, I would, but of course, I couldn't. Lol.. Seriously, enough of playing around and doing nothing good with my life. If I would really want my dreams to come true, I should start doing something tight NOW.

Here is a graph I projected last night. I am planning to update the graph with my actual cash flow everymonth. Hopefully, this device would help me track down and manage my finances well.

I Almost Gave Up

You read it right guys, I alsmot gave up making money online. I just don't get it. People around me are making the most out of every online money making opportunity in the internet, while here I am, working hard as I could ever do just to earn a few cents. I am starting to get tired of participating in forum sites, updating my blog, dropping entrecards, visiting other people's blog. Geez. Why can't my blog earn as much as other blogs do. I am trying really hard. I have been reading a lot of ebooks and tips for blogging, but still, no positive feedback.

So I decided to take a breather. I had a four day vacation from work, spent time with my family and love ones and did not went online during that 4 day break.

So here I am again. Hoping that my patience would be enough for me to go on and do my best to earn more and do better in my online money making sites.

I feel so happy today. My blog is now part of Adgitize's leader board. Yohooo!!! Yesterday I felt bad because my total earnings in Adgitize for the month of January was only $0.12. I just started out Adgitizing last January 27 but I was very optimistic about this site and was expecting more. But look, in barely a week, my blog was able to reach Adgitize's Leaderboard! I made it to the 239th place. And that was only due to points I have accumulated in February, and february just started. This is really a very big achievement for me. Because of this I will strive even harder to reach the top of Adgitize's Leaderboard. I hope this dream will come true soon.

RuNNing Out

He's running out of excuses, Im running out of patience. yesterday was our 28th "monthsary". He remembered but chose to stay out till wee hours in the morning in some bar together with his office mates. He even gave me a lame excuse of he wanting to go home early but just could not leave. Yeah right.
Surprised, there were no more tears, no more hurt feeling. The initial feeling of remorse and $h!t was there, but that was it. No trying hard to forget about the pain and the usual dramatic stuffs I pull of everytime he takes me for granted.
Am I starting to run out of feelings? Or is he the one starting to run away?
Sometimes I wonder, am I starting to live my life like one of my friends? He said that if a person cannot give the things he needs, he just looks for someone else willing to do what the other is not.
I guess in the future, he will not wonder why Ronald came in our picture.

14 Days to go and it's Valentine's Day !!! Yihaa!!!.. And I guess I do not need to remind you guys that Valentines dAy will be on a Sunday so expect the traffic, crowded malls, parks and "gimik" places, and of course hiked up motel room rates..lol... Fiesta !!!!

Right now everyone's busy doing their thing around the house for the Fiesta Celebration tomorrow. Tomorrow is St. Michael Feast Day, actually, St. Michael Feast Day is celebrated every 29th of September, but due to tradition, that started way way back even before my grandma is born, it is celebrated every last Sunday of the month of January in our place. But according to rumors, this will be the last time we will celebrate our Fiesta on a January, next year, it will be celebrated on its actual Feast day which is September. Nevertheless, Fiestas will always be a very fun, happy yet a very tiring day we Filipino's love to celebrate. Got to start helping in the kitchen.

Admit it girls, sometimes we can really be such a b_t__ towards the men in our lives. But like my LSS for the day, these guys often comes back for more of it..lol..

As girls,we sometimes do get paranoid and get sneaky with our boys. Sometimes we just can't help it. We love them. And we sometimes get too possessive with them. But nonetheless, boys, admit it, you love girls and though we keep on doing this "psycho" stuffs, you can't help but fall for us...

If there would be one New Year Resolution I am going to have a hard time achieving this 2010, It would be going vegetarian. I was born a carnivore. I even bit my mother's areola in excitement and hunger way way back when I was still a newborn.

Yesterday I can't help but eat a cheeseburger from Mc Donalds. And yes, I threw away the tomatoes that comes with it.

People worldwide have been going green because of the health benefits this lifestyle brings into our well-being. PeTA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (http://www.peta.org/) have been very active in promoting "going green not only because of the health benefits we get from it but in lieu with their mission of protecting animal rights. Actually this 2010, the organization has been encouraging people worlwide to "Pledge to be Vegan in 2010" ( https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=2517 ). But PeTA "an organization no stranger to controversy" (quoted from yahoo news ) is on the hot seat again. This time because of using an image of no other than the First Lady of the United States of America Michelle Obama in an anti-fur advertisement without the First Lady's knowledge and permission. My New Year Resolutions...(Again..)

Another New Year, another fresh start. Most of us believes this right? Every time we change calendars, behind the festivities , loud music and sky lights are resolutions. Resolutions that we tend to promise ourselves, a love one or a friend. Resolutions that could be done any time of the year but is normally done every start of the year. (Only God knows why. ) Or maybe because we call it "New Year's Resolution ", so we do it every new year. Nevertheless, here is a list of my New Year's resolution.

1. Avoid to much cholesterol..it affects my sex life..lol..
2. Be happy with what i have and what i am
3. Change because I wanted to and not because someone else tells me too..
4. Enjoy life, explore places and other people. Life is an open space and not a confined box with 4 corners.
5. Meet people. I won't restrict myself to meeting and being with people that may bring new lessons and even love in my life.....
6. Save,save and save more.
7. Delete as much applications as I can in my Facebook account, however addicting they could be. ( I already did ! Hurray! )
8. Tweet and blog more often.
9. Eat healthy and exercise. I'm planning to go green. ( God please help me on this one. )
10. Believe in the power of dreams and miracles.

So, there's my list for 2010. How about yours? Hope we all do better this time.
